Settings
To open Settings, click the MeetCap icon in the menu bar, then click the gear button. You can also right-click the icon and choose Settings.
Settings has six panes: General, Minutes, Schedule, Storage, People, and Glossary. Most settings belong to your meeting library, so every Mac that uses the library has the same ones. Schedules, the keyboard shortcut, and your API key stay on this computer.
General
Section titled “General”| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Meetings › Location | Where your meeting library is. Click Change to choose another folder. MeetCap moves the notes and transcripts there, with People and the glossary; recordings stay where they are. If the folder is already a meeting library, MeetCap asks whether to use it instead. You can’t change the location while a meeting is being recorded or finishing up. See Move your meeting library. |
| Default note tags | Tags that every new meeting’s note starts with. Type a tag, then click Add. To remove one, click its ×. |
| Language | The language of the app, the command line, and the minutes: 中文 or English. Transcripts always stay in the language spoken. |
| Keyboard shortcuts › Start or stop recording | ⌥⌘R by default. The shortcut is always ⌥⌘ and one letter. Click the shortcut, then press the letter you want. If the shortcut is already in use, MeetCap says so. |
Minutes

| Write summaries and minutes with | Who writes the summaries and the minutes. Choose Your own API key, Your agent, run by MeetCap, Your agent, when you ask it, or This computer. See Ways to write minutes, and your privacy. |
| Summarize every | How often a summary is written during a meeting: 2, 3, 5, 10, or 15 minutes. The default is 5 minutes. With Your agent, when you ask it, your agent writes at this interval if it can run on a schedule. |
| Write minutes in both Chinese and English | After each meeting, write the minutes in the library’s language, then in the other one. This uses the AI one more time for each meeting. Off by default. |
Changes on this pane apply to future meetings.

|---|---|
