Uninstall MeetCap
To uninstall MeetCap, quit it, run the meetcap uninstall command, then drag the app to the Trash. Your meeting library isn’t removed. Its files stay where they are, and you can still open them.
Quit MeetCap
Section titled “Quit MeetCap”Right-click the MeetCap icon in the menu bar, then choose Quit MeetCap.
meetcap uninstall doesn’t remove anything while MeetCap is open, because MeetCap puts the MeetCap skill and the meetcap command back each time it opens.
See what will be removed
Section titled “See what will be removed”-
Open Terminal.
-
Run this command.
meetcap uninstallThe command lists each item it would remove, where it is, and how much space it takes. It doesn’t remove anything yet.
If Terminal can’t find the command, type ~/.local/bin/meetcap instead of meetcap in this step and the next one.
The command removes these items:
- The MeetCap skill in each agent’s folder
- All recording schedules
- The API keys saved in your keychain
- The
~/Library/Application Support/MeetCapfolder, which contains the speech recognition model, the local model if you downloaded it, and the recordings on this computer - MeetCap’s settings (
dev.seacen.MeetCap) - The
meetcapcommand in~/.local/bin, if MeetCap put it there
The command moves the MeetCap folder to the Trash instead of deleting it. The list also shows how many meetings have recordings on this computer and how much space they take.
Below the list, the command shows where your meeting library is. Make a note of this location. You need it if you decide to delete the library later.
Remove what MeetCap added
Section titled “Remove what MeetCap added”Run this command.
meetcap uninstall --confirmThe command removes the items in the list. Its last two lines say where your meeting library is and how to remove the app. If it can’t remove an item, it says which one and how to try again.
The command doesn’t remove anything while MeetCap is recording, transcribing, or processing a meeting, or writing its summary or minutes. Instead, it tells you what to wait for.
To get the recordings back, open the Trash, select the MeetCap folder, then choose File › Put Back. Do this before you empty the Trash.
If you added MeetCap to ZeroClaw yourself, remove it from ZeroClaw too.
Remove the app
Section titled “Remove the app”Drag MeetCap from the Applications folder to the Trash. If it isn’t there, look in the Applications folder inside your home folder.
Delete your meeting library
Section titled “Delete your meeting library”Do this only if you’re sure you no longer need any of your meetings.
- Open your meeting library in Finder. By default, it’s iCloud Drive › MeetCap. On a Mac that syncs Obsidian with iCloud, the default is iCloud Drive › Obsidian › MeetCap. If the Mac doesn’t use iCloud Drive, the default is Documents › MeetCap.
- Drag the library folder to the Trash.
If your meeting library is in a folder that also contains other files, such as an Obsidian vault, don’t delete that folder. Delete only the meeting folders, glossary.md, and the hidden .meetcap folder. To show hidden folders in Finder, press ⇧⌘. (period).
