MeetCap 1.0
Section titled “MeetCap 1.0”All ears. All yours.
Record any meeting you want, free, for as long as you like. If your mind drifts or the topic is new, live summaries catch you up and explain the terms. When the meeting ends, clear minutes are already waiting, ready to send. MeetCap transcribes your recordings on your computer and never uploads them. And your AI agent can record, search past meetings, or use them as context. Just ask.
This is MeetCap’s first public release. Thanks for giving it a try.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”- A short summary every few minutes, with a note on any unfamiliar term, product or event and what it means for this meeting.
- Minutes that show at a glance why you met, where each topic landed and who’s doing what. Each point links to the line in the transcript it came from, and one click plays it back.
- Tells speakers apart. Name someone once and they’re recognized in later meetings.
- Transcribes English, Chinese, or both in the same sentence.
- Records meetings in any app or browser tab, or in the room with you, and transcribes recordings you already have.
- Takes orders from your agent: in Claude Code, Codex, Qoder and 20+ others, say “Record this meeting” and it starts.
- Keeps transcripts and minutes as Markdown files in your own folder.
- Everything that runs on your computer is free: no time limits, no locked features, no account. Minutes are written by the AI you choose: an agent already on your computer, your own API key, or a local model MeetCap downloads for you.
- Recordings stay on your computer. Only the text goes to the AI you chose, and with a local model, not even that.
The full feature list is in the README.
